Miss Kelly, School Director
Miss Kelly grew up in Fort Lee, NJ with her parents and older brother and sister. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Philosophy, Law & Public Policy at Mount Holyoke College. In 2019, she discovered her true passion for early childhood education and earned her Montessori Teaching Diploma for Early Childhood Years (2 1/2 - 6 y.o.) at the IAPM Montessori Teacher Training Institute here in San Diego. Since then, she has taught and been a school administrator of Montessori Schools in Oceanside, CA, Tucson, AZ, and Hoboken, NJ. Her favorite part of teaching is guiding children through the process of learning sounds, building them into words, and then sentences until they are fluent readers! She also loves getting hugs each day from the sweet children at Murphy Canyon Preschool.
Ms. Patty, Preschool Teacher
Miss Patty loves teaching and has taught for the past 15 years at Murphy Canyon Preschool. She was born and raised in San Diego. Miss Patty is a mom of four and currently lives in Spring Valley with her husband, David, and three of her children (David, Jasmin, and Alyna). Her daughter (Sonia) recently moved to Portland, Oregon. She has a Maltipoo dog name Chai and a Calico cat name Suki. In her spare time, she enjoys exploring, hiking, traveling, watching movies and spending time with her loved ones. She is so excited to be your teacher, and she is looking forward to all the fun things the children will learn in her class!
Ms. D, Toddler Teacher
Ms. D has 24 years of childcare experience, caring for children from infants to elementary aged children. She has an associate’s degree and has taken many courses studying early childhood education with a focus on infants and toddlers. She has been at Murphy Canyon Preschool for a year. Her favorite part of being a teacher is seeing the “A-Ha!” moment when a child learns a new skill, and seeing children grow into leaders and helpers in the classroom.
Ms. Sophia, Preschool Teacher
Ms. Sophia was born in Truckee, California she grew up there until she was 3 years old later with her parents moved to San Diego. Growing up she loved to play teacher. Ms. Sophia holds an AMS Primary Montessori certification for children ages 2.5 - 6 years old. Before joining us, she worked for 3 years at Montessori Hills Academy school. Ms. Sophia is passionate about the Montessori method and loves to foster an environment where each child can thrive and explore their capabilities. She loves nature and especially enjoys introducing botany and gardening activities to the children. Outside the classroom, Sophia is continually inspired by the world around her. She enjoys activities that allow her to connect with nature, such as hiking, beach days and hanging out with her dog in the park.
